May, SM and WS must really thank Sascha & Siti for this wonderful weekend! Although I missed the scrumptious meal at Meritus Mandarin (which I heard so much about it from you guys) in the humid afternoon, I had my share of a good meal in the evening- a tasty beef fried rice courtesy of May's cooking and Sze Min's preparation. It simply undid my long hectic day. We spent the night chatting and lazing around before the cozy night prompted our sluggishness to the comfy chairs by the swimming pool. The light of glittering stars, albeit few, bathed the silhouette of our octagonal canopy, the dancing blue water was simply too mesmerising (better without the red tapes haha). I was enjoying myself, the conversation and the music.
We stayed overnight at Sascha's place, making ourselves comfortable at the living room. Then came the picture-perfect Sunday- a stroll at Bayshore road, a quick shop at the nearest mini-mart, a play with Arwen. Then, the story was exquisite. We were greeted with tasty Swiss cheese (courtesy of S&S who brought it all back all the way from Swiss!) and it was a day of hot-pan frying - tomatoes, onions, sausages, mushrooms and "pickled mini cucumbers". Omg. Siti gave us a new vocabulary , "air tangan" which indeed made the food so tasty! And all the prior preparations by Sascha - the setting, ambience and arrangement of utensils, it was romantic. One after another slice of cheese we melted. Chilly powder, olive oil and other spices at our disposal. Our heart melted.
We were simply too full but fortunately May did not forget that we should capture these wonderful moments. Then came the flash. Too glaring. Off it. No flash, no red eyes, no shaky hands. Sze Min's expertise in camera angle and focus were needed. May's ISO 200 tuned our photos to clearer pixels. Soon perfect clicks froze the moments, oh can I have them back? If only my emotions can be captured, I must say this weekend was like a dream.
The sight of Arwen was simply too fascinating. I wish my child would be as cute as her.., as pretty as her. The big round eyes and bubbly cheeks resemble those of Siti's, the thin eyebrowns and smooth forehead of Sascha's. And the complexion? A hybrid of both.
Back to reality, back to work. I look forward to the next time I could have such moments. Not now, not tomorrow, maybe a week or two (Meritus Mandarin again this weekend!?). Back to lessons, pharmacy, finance and daily house chores, let's work towards another great weekend. Adios.
